Experience:
Initially in the Arts sector working with diversity, disability, multicultural and intergenerational projects and events, I facilitated creative expression and connection through meaningful engagement for individuals within wider community. I began supporting refugee families through the International Humanitarian Settlement Scheme with CentreCare, Catholic Migrant Centre, CSR and trained with ASeTTS. As a counsellor, I’ve worked for non-profit organisations Holyoake and Relationships Australia & 4Families in various programs, roles and locations for over 12 years.

Experienced Couples, Children & Families counsellor and educator, Theraplay, SandPlay & Play Therapist, facilitator of groups for Women & Children (FDV), Aboriginal Grief & Loss, Sunshine Circles in schools, Multicultural groups, and support work in Child Contact Service… it’s always been a great privilege to empower clients to enable positive changes and outcomes in their life.

Therapeutic approach:
Client-Centred, Strength-Based and Present-Focused, I provide a safe, non-judgmental, respectful environment drawing on multiple theoretical orientations and techniques to facilitate motivation, self-reflection and positive connections. I offer support and inspiration in an eclectic, flexible, multi-faceted approach, holding space for clients to address issues that affect their mental, physical, emotional and social well-being.

I encourage clients to gain a deeper understanding and awareness of self in relationship to others, to become mindful to the power of choice, and to access their own strengths and potential for change and growth and healing.
Clients learn new techniques and skills to better manage overwhelm with a focus on self-care, you are supported to engage with life challenges and develop strategies to manage stress, anxiety, anger and grief. Parents and carers can experience new approaches to support their child with emotional regulation difficulties, strengthening bonds through play goes a long way towards reducing challenging behaviours. Couples are guided to identify styles of communication, obstacles and patterns within their relationships preventing them from achieving desired relationship goals.

I have a Bachelor in Counselling + Behavioural Science units (Notre Dame), Certificate in Play Therapy (PTA), and Certificate in SandPlay Therapy & Symbol Work (ETI), and more professional development trainings in a broad range of modalities and areas.
